US.- Turning Stone Enterprises has revealed a series of promotions and new appointments in preparation for the June 29 debut of the Turning Stone Evolution in New York. Jerry Marrello has advanced to the role of senior vice president for hospitality, marking 20 years of tenure with Turning Stone. His career path includes time as a server at Emerald Restaurant, director of nightlife, and general manager of Point Place Hotel Casino, serving most recently as vice president for regional casinos.
In other moves, Chris Thomas is transitioning from the Turning Stone banquets team to serve as the chef de cuisine for Sal. Felix Mares, previously the event technology director, has been appointed director of event technology and telecommunications. Additionally, Chelsey Lavere has moved up from senior sales manager for meetings and conventions to the position of associate director of sales.
Shenequa Wittman, who served as assistant executive housekeeper for the Brook and Tower Hotels at Turning Stone, will take on the same role to guide the housekeeping staff at The Crescent. Lloyd Bansil has been named executive chef and will manage culinary operations at both Salt and The Grand Expo.
Kevin Reeder assumes the role of front office manager. Michael Yaffe, the former executive chef at Foxwoods Resort, joins as assistant executive chef for banquets. Matthias Maier has been selected as director of banquet operations, bringing leadership experience from his time at Aria and Vdara in Las Vegas.

The Turning Stone Evolution project features The Crescent, the property’s fourth hotel, alongside The Salt: Seafood & Raw Bar. Additionally, The Grand Expo is set to open over Labour Day Weekend, effectively doubling the resort’s meeting and convention capacity to 200,000 square feet.
