Commercial and tribal operators in Michigan reported combined gross receipts of $371 million from igaming and online sports betting in April. This figure represents a 0.3 percent decline from March 2026.
According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), igaming gross receipts amounted to $303.4 million, with online sports betting gross receipts reaching $67.6 million. The sports handle for the month was $460.8 million, a 5 percent reduction from March.
Combined adjusted gross receipts (AGR) totaled $315.61 million: $291.2 million from igaming, which was down 5.8 percent, and $24.5 million from online sports betting, a decrease of 25.2 percent. Year-over-year, igaming AGR saw an increase of 24.9 percent, while online sports betting AGR declined by 8.7 percent.
Operators remitted $63.2 million in taxes and payments to the State of Michigan. The three Detroit casinos reported $15.1 million in wagering taxes and municipal services fees paid to the City of Detroit.
As of April 2026, 15 commercial and tribal operators have been authorized to offer igaming and/or online sports betting in Michigan. Of these, 13 provide online sports betting, while all 15 offer igaming.
The MGCB recently launched a campaign, “Don’t Bet on Your Future,” aimed at protecting young people from underage and problem gambling. This initiative introduces new resources for youth, schools, and families.
